Nature of Business

Learning+ is a Further Education Provider; with the added status of being a third sector limited company. We operate exclusively with other third sector organisations to provide, by franchise contract agreements, further education to disadvantaged individuals within Devon and Cornwall. The following Mission Statements identifies the responsibilities of our Trustees.

Mission Statement

To provide those individuals most disadvantaged; for whatever reason, within the communities of Devon and Cornwall, with the opportunity to learn by;

• Providing quality, accessible and affordable learning opportunities through voluntary and community sector learning organisations.

• Providing quality, accessible and affordable learning opportunities through robust partnerships with partner educational institutions.

• Promote and develop quality improvement within the voluntary and community sector to ensure that all learners have the opportunity to achieve.

To promote the role of the voluntary and community sector within the learning and skills sector, to influence policy developers and development in order to maximise future funding and learning opportunities by;

• Strengthening links with local learning partnerships, local authorities, National Institute for Adult and Continuing Education, Learning and Skills Council and other further education providers.

• Maximising sustainable funding for the delivery of learning across Devon and Cornwall to enable the continued development of voluntary and community sector training organisations.

• Work with local, sub-regional, regional and national organisations to showcase models of good practice in voluntary and community sector delivery and partnership working.
